It became the first handset company to announce a smartphone using Microsoft's latest mobile software, Company anounced that this phone will hit market in OCtober - November but did not gave the exact dates.


New Samsung ATIV S Windows Phone launched in IFA 2012

IFA 2012 is bringing bulk of new launches by various brands. With the emarging market of Samsung Smartphones, Samsung has launched its new  ATIV S Windows phone sports a high-end 4.8-inch display, Corning "Gorilla" glass, and an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, as per an official blog posted by Microsoft posted on Wednesday.

As per media reports Samsung ATIV phone would hit stores in the October-November period but there is no word on the exact start date.


Samsung Electronics became the first handset maker to announce a smartphone using Microsoft's latest mobile software, making its surprise, hurried announcement just days before the highly anticipated launch of Nokia's version. Samsung said the ATIV phone would hit stores in the October-November period but did not give an exact start date.

The brief announcement at a Berlin electronics show comes amid expectations that smartphone makers may turn increasingly to Windows devices after a US jury decided many of Samsung's Google Android-based phones infringed Apple Inc patents.

Samsung's ATIV S Windows phone sports a high-end 4.8-inch display, Corning "Gorilla" glass, and an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.

The ATIV S features a dual coure 1.5 GHz processor with 4.8 inch HD AMOLED display, 1GB RAM, microSDHC support and 6 megapixel camera and a 2300 mAh battery.

Nokia once the world's leading producer of phones  it stuggling to get back in the market would unveils its new range of Lumia line of smartphones using Window Phone 8 in New York on September 5th.
