Android 4.4.1 update : Camera Performance and other features improved

Google has started rolling out Android 4.4.1 update to fix out the bugs and improve the camera performance.Update has been first floated on Nexus devices. This update will majorly improve the camera performance and will fix bug and few UI tweaks.


Listed down the are changes after Android 4.4.1 KitKat update mainly noticed in Nexus 5.



  • After the update the camera quality has improved alot.
  • Low volume output issue reported by users in few applications has been fixed up.
  • There were some bug  related to ART as well. This allows Whatsapp to work with the ART runtime.
  • Immersive mode breaking while adjusting the volume level bug has been fixed.
  • The default email client in Nexus 5 not syncing with an exchange server bug has also been fixed.
  • The transparent status bar sometimes turning opaque issue on the Nexus 5 has also been fixed.
  • The Settings icon in Quick tiles has also been changed.
  • The haptic feedback has been tweaked on the Nexus 5.
  • The Miracast setting has been renamed to Cast settings.
  • The new ‘Photos’ app is now the default Gallery app.
  • There is a slight improvement in benchmark performance on the Nexus 5.
  • The navigation bar is now transparent on the lock screen in the Nexus 4.
These are the improvements noticed mainly in Nexus 5, we expect the similar improvements will be noticed by users using other handset after having this update.
