Huawei Ascend W2 running on Windows Phone 8 OS announced




Chinese smartphone maker has finally launched its Windows 8 OS based new handset, Ascend W2. Which is basically an upgraded version of Ascend W1. Earlier this year, it was heard couple of time about this handset, mainly at Mobile Asia Expo 2013, where it was to be unveiled. Company will currently launch it in November, but will be available only in Russia and Netherlands and will follow other countries and India soon.

Ascend W2 is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor paired with 512MB of RAM and has a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×400 pixels) display.Phone has a single 5MP touch focus camera that can record 720p videos at 30fps.There is no LED flash. This single SIM handset supports 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.

Ascend W2 will be available in Yellow, Black, Red and Blue colors and will have a 1700 mAh Li-ion battery will get the handset going for up to 390 hours in standby mode. The estimated talk time is around 9 hours.

Company has currently not revealed its pricing, but the launch in rest of the world is expected to follow soon.
