Asus has launched its 'Transformer Book Trio in India which is three-in-one' ultraportable device i.e it can function as either a laptop, a tablet or even power a personal computer. This new gadget is priced at Rs 98,099 in India and will be available at authorized retail outlets by end of December 2013.
Transformer Book Trio is basically a 2 part device offering 3 different using options. It can be used as simple Android tablet or laptop-tablet hybrid device. It has a detachable tablet and keyboard. It can also be used as a Windows 8 Pro laptop in which either tablet will be used as a display with the keyboard dock, or by connecting the keyboard dock to an external display via Mini DisplayPort or Micro-HDMI. Company has given a button to changeover between Windows 8 and Android.
Transformer Book Trio is powered by a fourth generation 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-4500U CPU (up to 3GHz with Turbo), coupled with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and has a 500GB hard disk drive.
11.6 inch detachable display works on a 10-point multi-touch Android tablet and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Transformer Book Trio is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB flash inbuilt storage. It also features a 720p HD front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
Transformer Book Trio spots two separate batteries, the tablet has a 19Wh battery, and the keyboard dock a 33Wh battery. Company claims that the device can give a battery life up to 13 hours in Android mode and 5 hours on Windows 8 mode. While battery life while both are running simultaneously has not been mentioned.
For connectivity, company has given options of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 on the keyboard dock while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 options on the tablet separately.
