Acer Liquid Z5 phone, Iconia A1-830 and Iconia B1-720 tablets announced

Acrer has launched its latest Android smartphone names as Acer Liquid Z5. It comes with a 5 inch FWVGA screen with 854 x 480 pixels. Handset is priced at  €169 which is roughly $230 or Rs. 14,300 and will be made available from mid January in France, Benelux, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Ukraine and the UK from mid-January.

Acer Liquid Z5 is powered with a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual core processor. It has a internal memory of 4GB, company has not reveled about memory extension, but we feel it must has a micro SD slot and memory can be extended till 32GB. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Acer is also touting the Liquid Z5's Float UI, which allows additional app windows to be overlaid, for better multitasking. It appears as translucent screen that floats over the function being used, with easy access to eight Float Apps, including caller, camera, maps, calculator and notes.

It seems Acer had designed the camera of this phablet very well. It comes with a 5 megapixel BSI camera on rear side which features 5 lens elements and a f/2.4 aperture which is designed to let in more light for less noisy low light images.Its rear camera also features IR filter and HDR options. Though company has not given any information about the front camera but it seems this handset has a single camera only.

The Acer Liquid Z5 weighs 147 grams and measures 145.5 x 73.5 x 8.8mm. It will be available in White or Grey color. Handset comes with the features of  Wi-Fi, GPS and DTS Sound technology for the front speaker.

Acer had also included Quick mode profiles for different users and age groups, namely Basic Mode, Classic Mode, Keypad Mode and Easy Senior Mode. These modes features below mentioned features.

Basic Mode is designed for youngsters with fixed call and text functions
Classic Mode is designed in which all main functions are designed for first time smartphone users.
Keypad Mode is designed for people who primarily use voice and need their keypad right away.
Easy Senior Mode mainly useful for elderly users and includes features like messages, radio, weather, magnifier, clock, quick call contacts.

Company has also launched 2 news tablets ahead of CES 2014, one is the 7.9-inch Iconia A1-830, and the second one is 7-inch Iconia B1-720.

The Acer Iconia A1-830 runs on a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Clover Trail+ Z2560 processor and has a RAM of 1GB. It runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. It has a 7.9 inch display of (768x1024 pixel) resolution.
A1-830 is priced at  $179.99 (roughly Rs. 11,200) and will be made available soon.

There is 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro-SD card. Handset features a rear camera of 5 megapixel which is capable of recording 1080p HD videos. It also has a 2 megapixel front facing camera.

The Iconia B1-720  runs on a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8111 processor and has a RAM of 1GB. It runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. It has a 7 inch OGS (One Glass Solution) display with no details on resolution. B1-720 is priced at  $129.99 (roughly Rs. 8,000) and will hit North America later in January 2014.

There is 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro-SD card. Handset features only a front facing camera of which details are not available.
